Description Overview:
A mission-driven nonprofit organization is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead day-to-day financial operations and support organizational leadership. This role will oversee core accounting functions, financial reporting, and compliance, while helping to ensure the long-term financial health of the organization. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a hands-on role with leadership visibility and experience working in a nonprofit and grant-funded environment.Key Responsibilities:
+ Oversee daily accounting operations including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll support, and bank reconciliations + Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements + Monitor financial performance and provide analysis, reporting, and recommendations to leadership + Support budgeting and forecasting processes, including program-level budget tracking + Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards (GAAP) and grant requirements + Coordinate and manage the annual audit process, serving as the primary liaison with external auditors + Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls + Partner with leadership to evaluate financial results and address program deficits or funding gaps + Support and oversee grant-related financial activity, including reporting and compliance + (If applicable) Provide guidance and oversight to accounting staffWhat We're Looking For:

+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field + 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a nonprofit setting + Prior experience in an Accounting Manager, Finance Manager, or senior-level accounting role + Strong understanding of GAAP and nonprofit accounting principles + Experience with financial reporting, budgeting, and audit coordination + Exposure to grant-funded environments is strongly preferred + Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks or similar) and Excel + Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills Robert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
