Accounting Manager

Overview:

A mission-driven nonprofit organization is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead day-to-day financial operations and support organizational leadership. This role will oversee core accounting functions, financial reporting, and compliance, while helping to ensure the long-term financial health of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee daily accounting operations including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll support, and bank reconciliationsPrepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statementsMonitor financial performance and provide analysis, reporting, and recommendations to leadershipSupport budgeting and forecasting processes, including program-level budget trackingEnsure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards (GAAP) and grant requirementsCoordinate and manage the annual audit process, serving as the primary liaison with external auditorsDevelop, implement, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controlsPartner with leadership to evaluate financial results and address program deficits or funding gapsSupport and oversee grant-related financial activity, including reporting and compliance(If applicable) Provide guidance and oversight to accounting staff
