WYPR 88.1
FM and
WTMD 89.7 FM.
We provide rich, vibrant programming in news, music, arts, and cultureacross expanding radio and digital formatsthat connects, enriches, and elevates the residents and communities of Baltimore and the region. Our mission is rooted in journalistic integrity, cultural merit, and community service. Position Summary TheFinanceManager has primary responsibility for serving as the main contact for the day-to-day accounting functionfor BPMincluding full-cycle accounting, financial statements preparation, audit/990assistanceand grant reporting. This position reports toour CFO and the CEO. This position oversees the AP/AR Specialist and works closely with other senior managers at BPM. Key Responsibilities ACHprocessing,bankaccountand credit card reconciliations Accruals and other related journal entries associated with themonth-end close Maintenance of fixed asset schedulesand monitoring of capital expenditures activity Preparation ofreconcilingschedules supportingthefinancial statements Compilation ofmonthly financials and forecasts Creation and tracking of annual budgets Preparation ofboard meeting materials Assistancewith personnel and business insurance Annual charitable registrationand other corporate filings,regulator/grantor compliance reporting, and tracking of revenues and expenditures associated with grants Participation in year-end audit,regulatoryand 990 filings Generating annual 1099 forms and 1096 report Qualifications Minimumsixyearsof directly applicable experience Full-cycle accounting A/R, A/P, balance sheet reconciliations, reports compilation Supervisory experience, including interfacing with various departments/functions Foster a collaborative team spirit based on mutual respect Able to lead by example, delegate respectfully and make sound independent decisions
Educational Requirements:
Bachelors Degree Accounting or Finance CPA-track is a plus
Technical Requirements:
Strongproficiencyin MS Office Suite and 365. Demonstrated experience in Excel Familiarity with
QuickBooks Online Preferred Qualifications:
Public broadcasting and/or community media (e.g.,radio, digital, TV) experience One or more years of public accounting experience Familiarity with project and/or people management Past interaction with nonprofits and an understanding of mission-based organizations
