Job Title:
Accounting Manager - Oracle Fusion (Implementation & Adoption Focus) Job Description We are seeking a hands-on Accounting Consultant with strong ERP implementation experience to support a critical transformation initiative. This individual will play a key role in the transition from PeopleSoft to Oracle Fusion, with a primary focus on driving adoption, improving usability for accounting teams, and ensuring accurate, audit-ready financial data. This is a highly visible, consultant-style role ideal for someone who understands how accountants work, can identify system inefficiencies, and introduce practical solutions, shortcuts, and process improvements within Oracle Fusion. Responsibilities Own end-to-end Record to Report (R2R) activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close, while supporting a live ERP transition Act as the accounting SME embedded within the Oracle Fusion implementation, partnering closely with finance and IT teams Drive system adoption across accounting teams by identifying pain points, improving workflows, and introducing efficiencies and shortcuts within Oracle Fusion Support the migration from PeopleSoft by leading general ledger reconciliations and validating data integrity across both systems Assist with Chart of Accounts mapping and ensure alignment between legacy and future-state structures Partner cross-functionally with upstream and downstream teams to resolve discrepancies, improve close timelines, and enhance overall process flow Provide hands-on support during SIT/UAT testing, ensuring accounting outputs are accurate and aligned with expectations Support key milestones including parallel close, cutover, and post-go-live stabilization Maintain visibility into Payroll and Accounts Payable impacts and assist in troubleshooting system-related issues Document R2R processes, controls, and accounting workflows within the Oracle Fusion environment, with a focus on scalability and user adoption Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field Strong experience owning month-end close and general ledger processes Proven experience in Record to Report (R2R) Hands-on experience with ERP implementations or system transformations (Oracle Fusion strongly preferred; PeopleSoft experience required) Demonstrated ability to bridge accounting and systems—translating technical functionality into practical, user-friendly solutions Experience helping teams adapt to new systems, including improving adoption and identifying process efficiencies Exposure to Payroll and Accounts Payable within an integrated ERP environment Strong analytical skills with the ability to reconcile, validate, and explain financial data across multiple systems Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, transformation-driven environment Preferred Qualifications Experience with Oracle Fusion / Oracle Cloud implementations Prior involvement in post-go-live stabilization and optimization CPA and/or CISA credentials Work Environment On-site in Hanover, MD Fast-paced, collaborative environment supporting a major ERP transformation initiative Opportunity to work closely with accounting leadership and play a key role in improving system effectiveness and team efficiency Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hanover, MD. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $80.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
