With approximately 60 team members across three locations, we pride ourselves on a fun, team-oriented culture with strong camaraderie and a genuine love for motorcycles. We promote from within, value input from our team, and are actively planning expansion. We're seeking a hands-on Controller who will treat the accounting department like their own small business. You'll drive efficiency, improve financial reporting and clarity, provide strategic insights to ownership, and help shape our growth. This is a true leadership role with real impact. Monday-Friday schedule with flexibility — we care about results and accessibility, not just hours. Casual business attire. The Role This hands-on position oversees all accounting and financial operations for our three Harley-Davidson dealerships using our dealership management system. You will maintain complete financial records, prepare reports for management and Harley-Davidson, ensure compliance, manage cash flow and inventory, and lead a small accounting team. You'll report directly to the owner and collaborate closely with leadership. Key Responsibilities Establish and maintain accounting policies, controls, and procedures across the dealership group. Manage month-end close, financial statements, reporting to Harley-Davidson (Dealer Dashboard), bank covenant compliance, and special analyses. Oversee cash management, receivables, inventory accounting/valuation, payables, and payroll. Ensure regulatory and tax compliance, including motor vehicle regulations. Lead and develop a team of 3-4 accounting professionals (scheduling, assignments, policies, and HR support functions). Coordinate with our external CPA firm for year-end reviews. Identify opportunities for greater efficiency, better reporting, and business improvements — and actively share ideas with ownership.
Qualifications Required:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. Minimum 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years as a Controller (or equivalent leadership role) for a small-to-medium sized business. Strong proficiency with accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience leading a small team and managing month-end processes. Preferred (Big Plus): Prior automotive, powersports, or vehicle dealership experience (Harley-Davidson experience especially valued). Lightspeed or Talon DMS proficiency. CPA or CMA.
