This position is designed for an experienced automotive professional who understands how to take a challenging credit situation, structure the right deal, work effectively with lenders, and create a positive buying experience for the customer. The ideal candidate is highly organized, persistent, comfortable working a large volume of leads and applications, and knows how to maximize approvals and turn opportunities into deliveries. Responsibilities Manage and develop the dealership's Special Finance/Subprime business. Work directly with customers who have challenged, limited, or rebuilding credit. Review credit applications and credit bureau information to determine the best financing strategy. Structure deals to meet lender guidelines while maximizing approvals and dealership profitability. Maintain strong relationships with banks, credit unions, and subprime automotive lenders. Submit applications to appropriate lenders and actively work with lender representatives to obtain approvals. Understand lender programs, advance guidelines, stipulations, loan-to-value requirements, payment-to-income and debt-to-income considerations. Match customers with appropriate vehicles based on lender approvals, available inventory, down payment, and payment objectives. Work closely with the sales team and dealership management to identify and convert Special Finance opportunities. Follow up aggressively and professionally with internet leads, credit applications, unsold customers, and previous Special Finance opportunities. Communicate clearly with customers regarding required documentation and lender stipulations. Ensure all required documentation and stipulations are obtained prior to funding. Monitor contracts in transit and work to resolve funding issues quickly. Maintain accurate records and ensure all transactions comply with dealership policies and applicable federal and state regulations. Track Special Finance performance, including applications, approvals, appointments, deliveries, gross profit, and funding. Develop processes designed to increase Special Finance lead conversion and overall department production. Deliver a professional, respectful customer experience regardless of the customer's credit situation. Qualifications Previous automotive Special Finance, Subprime Finance, F&I, or dealership finance experience strongly preferred. Demonstrated ability to structure and close automotive finance transactions. Working knowledge of subprime lender programs and approval processes. Strong understanding of credit reports, lender guidelines, deal structure, and funding requirements. Established lender relationships are a plus. Strong sales, negotiation, communication, and follow-up skills. Ability to manage a high volume of leads and applications while maintaining attention to detail. Comfortable communicating with customers by phone, text, email, and in person. Highly motivated and results-oriented. Ability to work effectively with salespeople, sales managers, finance managers, and senior dealership leadership. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Commitment to compliance, professionalism, and treating every customer with respect. What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who views Special Finance as a business within the business .
