Pay:
$108,264 to $131,592 annually This is an onsite interim position that could become permanent. Full Job Description Interim opportunity available with a municipality for an experienced Finance Manager to lead municipal accounting and financial operations. This role is ideal for a Finance Director, Controller, Finance Manager, or Senior Accountant with strong public sector accounting experience and leadership capability. The selected candidate will oversee financial reporting, budgeting, grants, audits, treasury functions, and supervision of a small finance team while serving as part of the Executive Management team.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all municipal accounting and financial reporting activities Manage the General Ledger and maintain compliance with GAAP, GASB, and GFOA standards Prepare and manage the City biennial budget and supplemental budgets Coordinate annual audits and serve as primary contact with auditors Supervise accounting, utility billing, payroll, receivables, and purchasing functions Administer federal and state grant accounting and reporting Monitor treasury functions and invest City funds according to policy and state law Maintain internal controls and financial systems to ensure compliance and prevent fraud Prepare financial reports and presentations for City leadership and departments Assist with labor costing methodologies and collective bargaining financial analysis when needed
Qualifications:
Strong background in public sector or municipal accounting required Experience with grants accounting and governmental financial reporting Experience overseeing small accounting or finance teams a preference Familiarity with costing methodologies for collective bargaining a plus
