Accounting Manager

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join our team on a contract basis in Sunset Hills, Missouri. In this role, you will oversee key financial processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. You will play a vital part in managing month-end close procedures, financial reporting, and general ledger activities for a private engineering consulting firm specialized in utility engineering.

Responsibilities:

• Perform month-end closing tasks, including preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts such as prepaid expenses, deferred revenues, accrued revenues, and fixed assets.
• Manage and oversee general ledger operations, ensuring accuracy and timely updates.
• Conduct financial reporting, variance analysis, and budgeting to support organizational goals.
• Supervise payroll processing and posting, as well as 401K and benefit funding.
• Oversee accounts payable processes and ensure proper cash application.
• Reconcile bank accounts and various ledger accounts to maintain accurate financial records.
• Collaborate on financial audits and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Utilize advanced Excel features, such as pivot tables, to analyze and present financial data.
• Work with accounting and payroll systems, with familiarity in NetSuite considered a strong advantage.
