Job Description

Overview AFM Holding Corporation, Inc. is seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Sr. Cost Accounting Lead to join our dynamic finance team. In this pivotal role, you will drive the accuracy and integrity of our cost accounting processes, ensuring compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and internal controls such as SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act). Experience in the furniture industry would be helpful, but manufacturing experience is key. Your expertise will help optimize financial reporting, support strategic decision-making, and enhance cost management initiatives across the organization. Duties Lead the preparation and analysis of cost-related financial reports, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and compliance with GAAP standards. Oversee general ledger accounting activities, including account reconciliation and balance sheet reconciliation, within
SAGE ERP
system. Must have exceptional Excel skills as well. Manage cost management processes by analyzing BOM, labor and overhead manufacturing elements. Work closely with R&D group to build new standard costs as well as assure continued accuracy of all SKUs. Build obsolescence modeling to track exposure and to ensure correct balance sheet reserve positions. Coordinate with accounts payable to streamline processes and improve data collection for accurate financial analysis. Work to reconcile all inventory errors in timely manner. Interpret complex financial reports to provide actionable insights on cost trends, variances, and opportunities for efficiency improvements. Utilize SAGE accounting software tools to write reports and to import/export data. Assure all companies/divisions are following set cost accounting rules and are consistent in application. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize ERP systems integration and improve overall financial data accuracy. Requirements Proven experience in cost accounting or financial analysis within a corporate environment; manufacturing accounting background is required. Candidate must have 7 to 10 years of experience to qualify. Strong knowledge of GAAP principles, technical accounting concepts, and be proficient in ERP and Excel. Demonstrated ability in financial report writing, interpretation of complex financial data, and balance sheet reconciliation. Familiarity with account reconciliation processes including accounts payable/receivable and general ledger accounting. Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail; ability to perform data collection and financial analysis efficiently. Strong communication skills for preparing clear reports and collaborating across teams on financial initiatives.
Pay:
$80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
