Triangle Grading & Paving, Inc. is a family-owned civil construction company that has served our community for over 40 years. We are looking to hire an experienced Accounting Manager to join our accounting team and take ownership of key accounting functions, including reconciliations, month- and year-end close, financial reporting support, and intercompany accounting. The Accounting Manager reports to the CFO/Controller and will oversee day-to-day operations, supervise and support accounting staff, and serve as a trusted partner to company leadership. The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting professional who can work independently, identify opportunities for improvement, and take ownership of processes from start to finish. This is a full-time , Monday-Friday position.Responsibilities:
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and supporting schedules
- Prepare and review balance sheet and bank accounts reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies
- Prepare the monthly Work-In-Progress (WIP) schedule and facilitate monthly job cost review meetings with company leadership
- Supervise and support accounting staff, including AR and AP
- Manage related-party and intercompany accounting, as well as equipment loan and lease accounting
- Review, document, and improve accounting processes, internal controls, and workflows
- Assist with financial reporting, analysis, budgeting, and forecasting
- Partner with the CFO/Controller on accounting operations and special projects, and provide backup payroll support as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent relevant experience
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including month-end close and general ledger accounting
- Supervisory or accounting team leadership experience
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and take ownership of accounting processes
Preferred Qualifications:
- Construction accounting and job costing/WIP experience
- Experience with Foundation Software and/or QuickBooks Desktop
