Do you enjoy collaborating across departments and influencing big-picture financial decisions? If so, we invite you to bring your expertise to the City of Keene as our next Accounting & Fund Manager. In this key leadership role, you'll do more than manage numbers, you'll help guide the financial health and long-term success of City operations. What You'll Do As a vital member of the City's finance team, you'll lead and support a wide range of accounting, budgeting, and financial management activities, including, but not limited to:

Preparing and analyzing financial reports, including presentations for City Council

Playing a central role in developing both annual operating and capital budgets

Serving as the primary financial partner for assigned departments and funds

Providing organization-wide financial analysis to support programs, services, and strategic initiatives

Leading the annual independent audit process and coordinating across teams
-
Monitoring cash flow, advising on liquidity, and supporting investment decisions

Overseeing fixed asset accounting and reconciliation processes

Strengthening internal controls and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and City policies

Evaluating and improving financial systems, processes, and customer service delivery

Supporting grant, enterprise, and special revenue fund accounting

Managing and supporting the City's financial software systems and cloud-based solutions

Leading system improvements, integrations, and data management initiatives

Training and supporting staff across departments on financial tools and best practices

Discover More About the Monadnock Region Minimum Qualifications A bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration or a related field, plus at least 5 years of related experience. A strong understanding of governmental accounting practices and financial operations is essential. A valid driver's license is required. Salary and Benefits This full-time position offers a competitive salary range of $78,789- $98,186 annually and will also receive an attractive benefits package which includes low deductible/low-cost health insurance, low-cost dental insurance, State of NH Group I retirement, and other benefits such as life insurance, disability, and paid time off. Municipal employees may also qualify for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Program
