We are seeking an Accounting Manager to join our team. This role reports directly to the CFO and plays a key role in overseeing accounting operations and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, account reconciliations, financial reporting, audit support, and compliance with GAAP and internal controls.
- Manage and develop a team of four employees across accounting, payroll, human resources, and administrative functions.
- Establish departmental priorities, assign workloads, and monitor performance to ensure timely completion of financial, payroll, and HR responsibilities.
- Review and approve all work products completed by direct reports, ensuring accuracy, compliance with company policies, and adherence to accounting, payroll, and HR standards prior to execution or submission.
- Process and maintain customer credit memos, refunds, and account adjustments in accordance with company policies, ensuring accurate accounting treatment, proper documentation, and timely resolution of customer account discrepancies.
- Manage tax and regulatory reporting, including sales tax, fuel tax, 1099 reporting, and other federal and state filing requirements.
- Maintain fixed asset records, including asset additions, disposals, depreciation schedules, and supporting documentation.
- Manage and execute treasury functions, including ACH payment processing, wire transfers, positive pay administration, and cash management activities, ensuring secure, accurate, and timely movement of company funds in accordance with internal controls and banking protocols.
- Oversee and ensure compliance with prevailing wage regulations, certified payroll processes, union reporting requirements, OCIP reporting and all associated labor compliance filings and documentation.
Requirements:
- 7-10+ years of progressive accounting experience with increasing levels of responsibility and leadership.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Experience with payroll processing and certified payroll reporting preferred.
- Experience in construction, traffic control, equipment rental, or related industries.
- Knowledge of sales tax, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll compliance, and general accounting principles.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and ERP systems such as NetSuite, with the ability to navigate, maintain, and troubleshoot financial and operational workflows.
- Strong working knowledge of prevailing wage regulations and union payroll requirements, including compliance, reporting, and documentation standards.
- Strong communication, organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multitask in a deadline-driven environment.
- Able to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.

$80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
