Our team supports municipalities, business, and residential customers by providing reliable, efficent, and environmentally conscious waste solutions. As we continue to expand, we're looking for a Accounting Manager to help strengthen our financial operations and support data-driven decision-making. Position Summary The Accounting Manager will play a key role in overseeing core accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting month-end and year-end close processes. This role requires a strong understanding of GAAP, hands-on accounting experience, and the ability to work cross-functionally with operations, billing, and leadership. Key Responsibilities Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP Lead month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals Manage general ledger accounts and ensure accuracy and completeness Oversee fixed assets, depreciation schedules, and capital expenditures Support audits, tax filings, and regulatory compliance Collaborate with operations and billing teams to ensure accurate revenue recognition and cost tracking Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and efficiencies Mentor junior accounting staff as needed Oversee corporate office staff Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred but not required) 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in an asset-intensive or service-based industry Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards Experience with ERP or accounting systems (industry-specific systems a plus) Advanced Excel skills; experience with financial analysis and reporting Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments System integrations What We Offer Competitive salary and performance-based incentives Health, dental, and vision insurance Retirement plan with company match Paid time off and holidays Stable, essential-industry employer with long-term growth opportunities A mission-driven company making a real environmental impact How To Apply Please submit your resume and a brief cover letter outlining your experience and interest in the role.
