full-time Position Overview Our client is seeking a highly motivated Accounting Manager / Assistant Controller to oversee day-to-day accounting operations and support the financial reporting process for a growing manufacturing organization. This individual will play a key role in managing the month-end close, maintaining internal controls, analyzing manufacturing costs, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting foundation, experience in a manufacturing environment, and the ability to drive process improvements across the finance function. Key Responsibilities Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process. Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules. Assist with the preparation of internal and external financial statements. Oversee general ledger activities and ensure compliance with GAAP. Analyze manufacturing costs, inventory transactions, variances, and production expenses. Monitor inventory valuation, cycle counts, and physical inventory processes. Review and maintain standard costs and support cost accounting functions. Supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and other accounting staff as applicable. Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities. Develop and maintain internal controls and accounting policies. Partner with operations, production, and supply chain teams to improve financial visibility and operational efficiency. Assist with external audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting requirements. Support ERP system enhancements, implementations, and process improvement initiatives. Prepare ad hoc financial analyses and management reporting as needed. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within manufacturing. Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements. Experience with inventory accounting, cost accounting, and manufacturing operations. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, Epicor, or similar platforms. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. CPA designation is a plus. Preferred Experience Manufacturing, distribution, or industrial industry experience. Standard costing and variance analysis. Inventory controls and physical inventory management. Multi-site or multi-entity accounting environment. Audit coordination and financial statement preparation. Process improvement and system implementation experience.
