This role involves strategic financial planning, budget management, financial compliance, and providing leadership in financial decision-making. The Director of Finance will ensure that the organization maintains compliance with all nonprofit fiscal regulations and best practices, providing financial transparency and stewardship to stakeholders. Essential Functions Financial Planning and Strategy Develop, implement, and maintain the organization's financial policies and procedures. Prepare and manage annual operating budgets in collaboration with the Executive Director and department heads. Provide regular financial forecasts and reports to the leadership team and Board of Directors. Accounting and Compliance Oversee all financial operations, including payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and general ledger management. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local financial regulations, including IRS nonprofit reporting requirements. Coordinate and oversee annual financial audits and tax filings. Grant Management and Reporting Track and manage grant budgets and expenditures in accordance with grantor requirements. Prepare financial reports for funders, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Collaborate with program managers to align financial resources with program goals. Leadership and Supervision Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering professional growth and accountability. Provide training and support to staff on financial procedures and budget management. Strategic Collaboration Work closely with the Chief Executive Officer to assess and manage financial risks and opportunities. Serve as a liaison to the Board of Directors on financial matters, presenting financial data and analysis. Engage in long-term financial planning to ensure the organization's sustainability and growth. Other Functions Represent DVPI at community and collaborative meetings; advocate on behalf of survivors and facilitate positive change Represent the organization at community and collaborative meetings, advocating for sound financial management practices. Attend professional development activities to stay current with nonprofit financial management trends and requirements. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer. Qualifications Experience and Education Minimum 5 years of experience in nonprofit financial management or accounting. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field; CPA or advanced degree preferred. Proven track record of managing budgets for non-profit organizations with at least 20+ employees.
Pay:
$80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
