Canton Motorcars | Mazda Volvo Volkswagen Mercedes-Benz Job Summary Canton Motorcars is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Automotive Assistant Accounting Office Manager to support the Office Manager in overseeing the daily financial operations of our multi-brand dealership. The ideal candidate will have extensive automotive dealership accounting experience, preferably across multiple accounting functions, and a strong understanding of dealership financial processes. This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting daily accounting operations, assisting with month-end closing, and serving as a liaison between the accounting office, sales department, and finance managers. The successful candidate will have a hands-on approach, strong leadership skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-brand dealership environment.
Key Responsibilities Daily Accounting Operations:
Assist the Office Manager with overseeing daily accounting functions, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance across all dealership brands.
Month-End Closing:
Support the Office Manager with month-end and year-end closing processes, financial reporting, reconciliations, and account reviews.
Accounts Payable & Receivable:
Oversee and assist with accounts payable and receivable processes, including timely posting, payment processing, reconciliations, and collections.
Financial Reporting:
Assist with preparing, reviewing, and analyzing financial statements, reports, and dealership performance metrics.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure adherence to applicable financial regulations, dealership policies, and internal accounting controls.
Team Leadership & Support:
Provide day-to-day guidance, training, and support to accounting staff while helping maintain a productive and collaborative work environment.
Cross-Department Collaboration:
Work closely with sales, service, parts, and finance departments to ensure accurate financial transactions and effective communication.
Record Accuracy & Reconciliation:
Maintain accurate financial records, monitor account discrepancies, and ensure data integrity across dealership accounting systems.
Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities to improve accounting procedures, streamline workflows, and enhance operational efficiency across multiple brands. Qualifications 3-5 years of experience in an automotive dealership accounting office required. Multi-brand or multi-dealership accounting experience strongly preferred. Previous experience in multiple areas of dealership accounting, such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, billing, deal posting, and reconciliations. Proficiency in CDK dealership management systems required. Strong understanding of automotive dealership accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls. Experience assisting with month-end and year-end closing processes. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with strong attention to detail. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple departments. Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently in a fast-paced environment. Pay:
$55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
