DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position manages all financial and accounting operations for the Lackawanna County Housing Authority and serves as the chief financial officer. As a Comptroller, you will perform the following duties:

Financial Oversight:

Direct accounting and financial operations for the Authority\n

Budget Preparation:

Develop annual operating and capital budgets\n

Financial Reporting:

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements\n

Regulation Compliance:

Ensure alignment with HUD, PHFA, GAAP, and all applicable regulations\n

Audit Coordination:

Support annual independent audits and maintain strong internal controls\n

Cash Management:

Oversee banking activities and guide staff in financial and accounting work

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Stable, full-time weekday employment\nComprehensive benefits package\nWork hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.\n

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Four years of progressively responsible professional accounting experience including one year of supervisory experience and a bachelor's degree including or supplemented by fifteen college credits in accounting; or\nAny equivalent combination of accounting experience and training.
