Accounting Manager - Lead. Influence. Make an Impact. New Cumberland Federal Credit Union (NCFCU) is looking for an experienced and motivated Accounting Manager to join our team and play a key role in the financial success of our Credit Union. This is more than an accounting position. As our Accounting Manager, you'll lead a talented accounting team, partner closely with the CFO and Leadership Team, and help shape the financial processes and strategies that support our continued growth. About the Role As Accounting Manager , you'll oversee the day-to-day accounting operations of NCFCU while ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of our financial information. You'll serve as a key resource to Leadership and help ensure our accounting practices meet regulatory and industry standards. This is a fully on-site role in New Cumberland, PA. What You'll Do Lead, supervise, mentor, and develop the Accounting team. Oversee daily accounting operations and general ledger management. Lead the preparation and review of accurate month-end and annual financial reporting in accordance with GAAP. Assist with the preparation and review of
NCUA 5300
Call Reports and other regulatory filings. Ensure timely and accurate reconciliation of general ledger and subsidiary accounts, including cash, loans, and investments. Oversee Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets, and related accounting functions. Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with GAAP, NCUA, and NACHA standards. Support internal and external audits, regulatory examinations, and special projects. Partner with the CFO and Leadership Team on financial initiatives and organizational projects. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, systems, and efficiencies—and help turn those ideas into action. Stay current on accounting and regulatory changes and help ensure the Credit Union remains compliant. Perform other duties as assigned. What We're Looking For Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3+ years within a Credit Union or financial institution. 3+ years of management or supervisory experience. Strong working knowledge of GAAP, NCUA, and NACHA standards. Experience with Symitar, Fiserv, or a similar Credit Union/financial institution accounting system.
Advanced Excel and Financial Analysis Skills:
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions, data analysis, reporting, and financial modeling. Experience with Power Query for importing, transforming, and analyzing data is highly preferred. Strong attention to detail with the ability to see the big picture. Excellent communication, leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills. A collaborative mindset and the confidence to recommend new ideas and improvements.
