This person will work directly with the two owners to help manage client fulfillment, improve delivery systems, strengthen accountability, and support the continued growth and scalability of the firm. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience managing and growing an accounting or tax firm, understands tax and accounting principles, and is comfortable leading both people and processes. This is a client-facing role that requires excellent communication skills, strong judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced professional services environment. A CPA license is preferred but not required. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily client fulfillment and delivery across tax, bookkeeping, accounting, and advisory services Support the owners in managing firm operations, team accountability, workflow, and client experience Help design, document, and improve internal processes to support growth and scalability Monitor deadlines, deliverables, and staff performance to ensure work is completed accurately and on time Assist with workload planning, capacity management, and delegation across the team Serve as a leadership point of contact for clients, team members, and ownership Review and improve client onboarding, communication, recurring service delivery, and project workflows Identify operational bottlenecks and recommend practical solutions Help implement and manage software systems, reporting tools, dashboards, and accountability tracking Provide technical support and guidance related to accounting, bookkeeping, and tax processes Ensure quality control standards are maintained across client work Train, coach, and support team members as the firm grows Assist with firm-wide initiatives related to systems, hiring, client service, and operational efficiency Required Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, tax, bookkeeping, or firm operations Prior experience managing, leading, or helping grow an accounting firm or tax practice Strong understanding of accounting and tax principles High competency with QuickBooks Online Experience managing client relationships in a professional services environment Strong leadership, communication, and people skills Ability to create structure, improve processes, and hold team members accountable Strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing deadlines Comfortable working directly with business owners and leadership Ability to think strategically while also managing day-to-day execution Preferred Qualifications CPA license preferred Experience with Google Workspace / Google Suite Experience with Drake Tax Strong Microsoft Excel skills Experience implementing workflow, project management, or practice management software Experience managing remote or hybrid teams Background in tax preparation, accounting review, bookkeeping management, or client advisory services Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a strong operator, problem solver, and people leader who understands how an accounting firm works. You should be comfortable improving systems, managing client deliverables, supporting staff, and helping owners move from reactive day-to-day management toward a more scalable and accountable firm structure. You do not need to know everything on day one, but you should bring strong accounting knowledge, leadership experience, excellent client service skills, and a desire to help build a firm that runs smoothly and grows intentionally. Work Environment This is a leadership role within a growing accounting firm. The position requires a hands-on manager who is comfortable working closely with ownership, team members, and clients to improve operations and ensure high-quality service delivery.
