Position:
Accounting Manager Job Summary We are seeking a Full-Time Accounting Manager who is a motivated self-starter and ready to operate at a high level within our accounting and finance department. This role is designed for an individual with a holistic understanding of the General Ledger and a rock-solid foundation in fundamental accounting principles. You will work hand-in-hand with the CFO and the Director of FPA as an integral part of our financial operations. Your primary objective will be to master our day-to-day accounting functions, progressively take a leading role in the month-end close process, support the treasury process and be a key lead in third party support including the annual audit. While you will initially operate under supervision to align with our specific nuances, we are looking for a professional who has the ambition and aptitude to manage the responsibilities across the accounting function. A successful candidate will be a critical addition to the Accounting team with responsibilities that will include support for FPA, Treasury and AP. The candidate needs to be IT / Data conversant with know-how with Sage, Excel and AI functionality to drive efficiencies.
Key Responsibilities GL Management & Monthly Close :
Act as a vital partner in the month-end and year-end close; working directly with the Director to ensure all journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements are accurate.
Audit Management:
Lead and manage yearly financial audits, serving as a key point of contact for external auditors, preparing required schedules, and ensuring full compliance.
Operational Accounting :
Manage day-to-day functions including bank reconciliations, Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), and credit card data entry/reconciliation.
Asset Management :
Track inventory and maintain precise schedules for the depreciation and amortization of fixed assets.
Treasury & Onboarding :
Support light treasury functions, including initiating/collecting payments and managing vendor/client account maintenance.
Data Inquiry & Analysis :
Investigate variances or anomalies within client processing; handle ad-hoc requests to resolve complex data discrepancies.
Continuous Improvement :
Productively challenge existing norms to refine processes and find more efficient, scalable ways to manage the department's workflow.
Qualifications & Skills Accounting Proficiency :
You must demonstrate a mastery of debits and credits and have a comprehensive understanding of how transactions flow through the GL.
Education & Certification:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA (Certified Public Accountant) designation is highly preferred.
Experience :
Approximately 5+ years of professional accounting experience. Direct experience in SaaS, Payments, or transaction-heavy environments is a significant advantage.
Technical Proficiency :
Advanced Excel skills are required (data manipulation, complex formulas, and pivot tables). Direct experience with Sage Intacct (or a similar mid-market ERP) is highly preferred.
