ROLE SUMMARY
The Fund Accounting Manager will oversee fund accounting operations, financial reporting, and the accuracy of financial data across multiple entities and investment structures. This position plays a critical role in ensuring timely reporting, maintaining compliance with accounting standards, and supporting strategic financial initiatives. The successful candidate will partner closely with internal leadership, external service providers, and key stakeholders to support fund operations, improve processes, and strengthen financial controls. This role offers the opportunity to lead accounting activities while contributing to the continued growth and success of the organization.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual fund accounting close processes Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules Prepare and review financial statements and investor reporting packages Oversee accounting for capital calls, distributions, allocations, and investment activity Coordinate activities with third party administrators, auditors, and tax professionals Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and reporting requirements Analyze financial results and provide support for management reporting Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reporting accuracy Support audits and regulatory reporting requirements Mentor and develop accounting team members while fostering a collaborative environment
KEY REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 5+ years of progressive fund accounting, partnership accounting, investment accounting, or related experience Prior leadership or people management experience Strong understanding of fund structures, capital activity, and investor allocations Experience preparing and reviewing financial statements in accordance with GAAP Advanced Microsoft Excel skills Experience working within complex accounting environments and multiple legal entities Strong analytical and problem solving abilities Excellent communication and relationship management skills Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment Active CPA Professionals who embrace technology, automation, and innovative tools to improve processes, increase accuracy, and support informed business decisions.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience working with alternative investment structures Experience coordinating audits and external reporting processes Knowledge of fund administration and investor reporting practices Experience with accounting systems, reporting tools, and process automation initiatives Understanding of Waterfalls and NAV calculations
