Type:
full-time firstPRO is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager for an immediate temporary opportunity with an established organization in the Swedesboro, NJ area. This assignment is expected to continue through at least the end of the year, with the possibility of an extension. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on accounting professional who can step in quickly, take ownership of day-to-day accounting activities, and provide leadership to a small accounting team. The position will be 100% onsite for approximately the first 60-90 days. Once fully acclimated, there will be flexibility for a hybrid schedule with approximately 3-4 days onsite per week.
Responsibilities:
Manage and support day-to-day accounting operations Complete complex general ledger account reconciliations and investigate unusual items Prepare monthly close and ad hoc journal entries Review staff journal entries and account reconciliations Prepare and analyze balance sheets and income statements, including significant variances to budget and prior year Assist with month-end close and financial reporting Support annual audit activities Manage intercompany accounting and transactions Help ensure accounting policies and procedures are consistently followed Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiencies Lead accounting, banking, and AP-related projects Supervise, train, and mentor a team of approximately 2-3 accounting professionals Partner closely with the Controller on accounting initiatives and special projects
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required 5+ years of progressive accounting experience Previous accounting leadership or supervisory experience Strong general ledger, month-end close, reconciliation, and financial statement experience Experience within a manufacturing or distribution environment strongly preferred Multi-company or multi-entity general ledger experience preferred Intercompany transaction and acquisition experience preferred ERP implementation, system conversion, or GL integration experience is a plus Public accounting and/or private equity-backed company experience is a plus MBA and/or CPA preferred but not required Advanced Microsoft Excel skills Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced accounting environment with multiple deadlines
Compensation:
$50-$55/hour, with some flexibility depending on experience. This is an immediate need, and qualified candidates will be considered quickly.
