Finance Manager Description:

The Dance Complex is seeking a part-time Finance Manager to join our team. The position is based in Cambridge, MA with some remote hours available. The position reports to the Operations & Development Director and is extremely important to the financial health of theanization. The Finance Manager is responsible for the day-to-day financial management and accounting operations of theanization. This position oversees financial reporting, budgeting, grantpliance, cash flow management, internal controls, and audit coordination. Working closely with the Leadership Team, Finance Committee, and Board of Directors, the Finance Manager ensures theanization's financial health, transparency, andpliance with nonprofit accounting standards and government and foundation funding requirements. The ideal candidate is a collaborative financial professional with strong nonprofit accounting experience, excellent analytical skills, and amitment to supporting theanization's mission through sound financial stewardship. This position is slated for 30 hours a week, and benefit packages are available. Key Responsibilities Financial Management & Accounting Manage all day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking transactions, general ledger maintenance, and month-end close. Prepare monthly financial statements, reconciliations, and year-end reports. Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Monitor all financial accounts for accuracy and investigate and resolve discrepancies. Manage cash flow and maintain corresponding cash flow projections. Process deposits, invoices, bills, and other financial transactions in a timely and accurate manner. Financial ing & Analysis Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports for the Leadership Team, Finance Committee, and Board of Directors. Provide analysis of the statement of activities, restricted fund balances, cash flows, and sources and uses of funds. Develop financial dashboards and supporting narrative analysis that provide insight intoanizational performance against budget and financial goals. Prepare short- and long-term financial forecasts and managerial reports. Make rmendations to improve financial performance, operational efficiency, and opportunities foranizational growth. Budgeting & Forecasting Support the annualanizational budget planning process with leadership. Prepare detailed annual operating and program budgets for Board approval. Support departmental budget implementation and ongoing expense tracking. Conduct regular budget-to-actual analyses and provide financial projections throughout the fiscal year. Develop tools and reports that assist leadership and the Board in monitoring financial performance and sustainability. Grant & Fund Accounting Prepare grant budgets for funding proposals in collaboration with the Development team. Monitor grant expenditures and ensure accurate allocation of expenses to funding sources. Prepare financial reports, invoices, and reimbursement requests for foundation, corporate, and government grants. Track restricted funds and ensurepliance with donor and grant requirements. Maintain accurate grant-related financial records and reporting and release schedules. Audit, Tax & Compliance Coordinate and lead the annual financial audit. Serve as the primary liaison with external auditors and CPA firms. Prepare schedules and documentation required for the annual audit and Form 990 filing. Coordinate preparation of annual 1099 forms, W-2s and other tax-related filings. Manage local, state, and federal registrations and financialpliance requirements. Document and address audit findings,pliance issues, and rmendations for improvement. Internal Controls & Financial Operations Maintain appropriate segregation of duties and strong internal control procedures. Review and update accounting policies, financial procedures, and the finance department policy manual. Evaluate financial and operational processes and rmend improvements. Conduct financial analyses related to vendor contracts, outsourced versus in-house services, and cost-saving opportunities. Serve as the primary point of contact for financial inquiries

Qualifications:

Required Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. Demonstrated experience managinganizational finances in a nonprofit setting. Strong knowledge of GAAP, budgeting, financial reporting, and internal controls. Proficiency with QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel or other spreadsheet and financial management systems. Excellent analytical,anizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong written and verbalmunication skills with the ability to present financial information to non-financial audiences. High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and personal accountability. Preferred CPA certification or other nonprofit specific professional certifications. Experience implementing and monitoring departmental budgets. Experience working with financemittees and nonprofit boards of directors. Knowledge of financial dashboard development and data visualization tools.
