Job Description

Interim Accounting Manager Herndon, VA (Primarily On-Site) | Contract | 2-3 Month Engagement Cherry Bekaert is assisting a growing, publicly traded technology organization in identifying an Interim Accounting Manager to support the Controller during a critical period of growth and transition. This consultant will play a key role in month-end close activities, reconciliations, process improvements, and government contracting accounting operations. The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting leader who enjoys digging into the details while helping strengthen financial processes and controls. Immediate start required Expected duration of 2-3 months Primarily on-site in Herndon, VA with some flexibility for 1-2 days remote work once established Estimated pay rate: $70-$80/hour Responsibilities Support the Controller with month-end and year-end close activities Prepare and review account reconciliations and supporting schedules Assist with maintaining accurate financial records in accordance with
U.S. GAAP
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy Support government contracting accounting requirements and compliance Assist with financial reporting and accounting operations as needed Collaborate with internal stakeholders across finance and accounting functions Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance Accounting Manager, or similar accounting leadership experience Strong knowledge of
