Accounting Manager Location:
100% Remote -
Boston-based Compensation:
$90,000-$200,000 base salary, depending on experience, + bonus eligibility + phantom equity A leading national professional services and accounting firm is seeking an Accounting Manager to join its growing Life Sciences group. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys working with multiple clients, solving complex accounting challenges, and partnering directly with senior leadership. The ideal candidate will have a strong public accounting background, experience supporting life sciences organizations, and the ability to oversee accounting operations across multiple entities. Key Responsibilities Manage day-to-day financial operations for multiple clients, including general ledger, AP, payroll, and financial reporting Oversee monthly and annual close processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation Manage and mentor onshore and offshore accounting teams performing transactional and technical accounting activities Review accounting records to identify and resolve inaccuracies, inconsistencies, and imbalances Assist with budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and client-specific financial models Advise clients on technical accounting matters and GAAP requirements Serve as the primary point of contact for external audits and coordinate timely completion of audit requests Manage communications with clients, vendors, banks, partners, and other stakeholders Assist clients with accounting system conversions, implementations, and cleanup of books and records Monitor adherence to internal accounting procedures, processes, and controls Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, technology, and operational efficiency Lead the 409(A) valuation process for common stock and provide guidance to clients Develop trusted relationships with clients and serve as a strategic accounting advisor Qualifications 6+ years of progressive accounting experience 2+ years of Big 4 or regional public accounting audit experience Experience working with life sciences companies strongly preferred Strong understanding of GAAP and financial accounting processes Experience managing accounting activities across multiple entities Excellent knowledge of month-end close, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis Experience working with multiple accounting/ERP systems such as QuickBooks, Xero, Dynamics, NetSuite, Intacct, or similar platforms Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field CPA, MBA or other professional certification is a plus Experience participating in an ERP implementation is a plus Why Consider This Opportunity?
