Part-Time Role Summary Key Responsibilities:
Oversee Month-End and Year-End Close- Manage the full accounting close process using QuickBooks, including reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and preparation of accurate financial statements across multiple entities and active projects. Manage Job Costing and WIP Reporting
- Maintain accurate job cost accounting for development and construction projects, including tracking budgets vs. actuals, and prepare monthly work-in-progress (WIP) schedules using percentage-of-completion methodology. Administer Draw Requests and Lender Reporting
- Prepare and submit construction loan draw requests, interfacing with lenders and title companies, and ensure compliance with loan covenants and reporting requirements. General Business Management
- Monitor and adjust payroll, retirement plan, and staff benefits. Ensure Compliance and Internal Controls
- Maintain internal controls, manage bank and credit card reconciliations, ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and company policies. Prepare Financial Analysis and Reporting
- Generate financial reports, project profitability analyses, and cash flow forecasts for ownership, investors, and lenders; support budgeting and forecasting processes. Coordinate with Tax Professionals and Prepare Tax Filings
- Serve as a supporting point of contact for CPA and tax preparers; support the tax filing processes, including 1099 preparation for subcontractors, track sales, property, and income tax due dates and filings. Qualifications Education
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or work experience in related field. Experience
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, prior experience in real estate development, homebuilding, or construction accounting strongly preferred. Technical Knowledge
- Strong understanding of job costing, WIP/percentage-of-completion accounting, construction draw processes, and lien waiver management. Software Proficiency
- Experience with construction or real estate accounting software (e.g., BuilderTrend or industry related software, QuickBooks, etc.) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the google products suite. GAAP Knowledge
- Solid working knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards as applied to construction and real estate entities. Autonomy
- Ability to identify priorities and execute tasks supporting all aspects of the company's financial and business management. Communication
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders, lenders, and executives. Organization
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
Pay:
$2,200.00- $3,000.
