Job Description

McGuireWoods is seeking an associate to join its Corporate and Private Equity practice and support a nationally recognized deal team advising private equity funds, independent sponsors, family offices, portfolio companies and strategic investors. This role is designed for an associate with five to seven years of acquisitions experience who is ready to take meaningful responsibility on sophisticated transactions and work directly with clients and senior lawyers.

The firm's Private Equity Transactions Practice Group has represented more than 200 private equity firms and portfolio companies over the past five years, with particular depth in healthcare private equity and independent sponsor transactions.

The OpportunityThis is an opportunity to join a sophisticated national platform with an entrepreneurial approach to client service. You will help quarterback transactions, manage workstreams, coordinate with clients and opposing counsel, and contribute to the strategic judgment that drives successful outcomes.

The role will involve platform acquisitions, add-on acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, minority investments, exits and other complex corporate transactions, as well as governance and investor-relations matters arising from investment activity.

The ideal candidate will have five to seven years of experience handling acquisitions for private equity funds and related investors, with demonstrated ability to manage key aspects of transactions independently. Candidates should have strong drafting and negotiation skills, sound business judgment, excellent communication skills, a collaborative approach and an interest in using innovative technology, including Harvey AI, to improve legal service delivery.

Salary:
