Full Job Description HYBRID:
Technical Accounting & Reporting Manager Overview Energy Talent Search is working with a growing tech/manufacturing company in the Denver Tech Center area that is expanding its finance and reporting function. They're looking to bring in someone who can take ownership of external reporting while also handling more complex accounting matters that come up in a public company environment. This is a high-visibility role where you'll be working closely with leadership and external auditors, with real responsibility from day one. Core Focus of the Role This position sits at the intersection of external reporting and technical accounting . The expectation is that you can manage reporting cycles while also stepping into more judgment-heavy accounting areas as they arise. What You'll Be Responsible For Owning the external reporting process across quarterly and annual cycles Preparing financial statements and related disclosures with a high level of accuracy and consistency Ensuring reporting is aligned with applicable accounting guidance and audit expectations Acting as the internal resource for technical accounting questions tied to non-routine or complex activity Working directly with external auditors to support reporting timelines and deliverables Supporting accounting and reporting considerations related to equity activity and other strategic transactions Monitoring new accounting guidance and determining what is relevant to the business Improving reporting workflows, documentation, and overall structure where needed SEC Reporting Requirement (Critical) This role requires direct, hands-on experience with public company reporting .You should be comfortable:
Leading or heavily contributing to external reporting cycles Working within the reporting process—not just reviewing outputs Preparing disclosures tied to financial statements Managing timelines associated with reporting deadlines Interfacing with auditors on reporting-related matters Candidates without direct SEC reporting experience will not be a fit. What They're Looking For CPA required Public accounting experience required (Big 4 or national firm background preferred) Strong working knowledge ofU.S. GAAP
within a public company environment Experience working through technical accounting issues—not just standard close/reporting Ability to communicate clearly with leadership and external auditors Comfortable operating independently and taking ownership of key areas What the Role Looks Like Day-to-Day Blend of recurring reporting responsibilities and project-based accounting work Frequent interaction with auditors and internal leadership Exposure to complex and evolving accounting topics Fast-moving environment with changing priorities Expectation to think through issues and make decisions—not just execute tasks Why This Role Stands Out Direct ownership of reporting and technical accounting High visibility within a smaller, growing team Exposure to more complex accounting topics than a typical reporting role Opportunity to be involved in broader business activity as it evolves Background Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required (advanced degree is a plus) Typically targeting someone in the ~5-8 year range Experience in public company or similarly complex reporting environments is important Additional Notes Denver-based candidates onlyHYBRID 3
