VP Controller - Annapolis, MD (Hybrid) Our client is a well-established real estate investment firm managing a diversified portfolio of income-producing and development assets across multiple property types and capital structures. This is a high-visibility, high-impact role within a growing, performance-driven organization.Requirements:

Reporting to the CFO, the Controller will lead accounting operations and play a central role in the monthly and quarterly close, internal controls, audit coordination, and external reporting. This individual will oversee general ledger accounting, accounts payable, equity administration, and investment accounting across a complex portfolio that includes receivables, real estate equity and debt positions, joint ventures, and structured transactions. Key Responsibilities Lead month-end and quarter-end close in accordance with public company reporting deadlines Ensure completeness and accuracy of the general ledger across multiple legal entities Oversee investment accounting including cash flow schedules, amortization, journal entries, and reconciliations Partner with technical accounting on complex transactions to ensure GAAP compliance Serve as a key partner to FP&A and tax teams to ensure financial data accuracy in forecasting models Design, implement, and maintain internal controls in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements Support financial system implementations and enhancements Qualifications 10+ years of experience spanning public accounting and corporate accounting; public company or real estate fund experience required Prior supervisory or team leadership experience required Real estate investment, asset management, or financial services industry background required Active CPA license required Bachelor's degree in Accounting required Experience with enterprise accounting systems required Strong proficiency in Excel and financial data analysis Working knowledge of financial valuation concepts (DCF, NPV, IRR) and real estate investment structuresSimilar remote jobs
