Revenue Cycle Manager 2.8 2.8 out of 5 stars 1773 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732 Full-time Rock Hill Eye Center 6 reviews Full-time Position Summary The Revenue Cycle Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the revenue cycle for a busy ophthalmology practice, ensuring accurate patient registration, charge capture, coding, billing, collections, denial management, and reimbursement optimization. This role works closely with physicians, administrators, clinical staff, and billing personnel to maximize revenue, improve operational efficiency, and maintain compliance with payer and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate has strong experience in healthcare revenue cycle management, a deep understanding of ophthalmology coding and reimbursement, and a proven track record of improving financial performance. Key Responsibilities Revenue Cycle Oversight Manage the full revenue cycle process from patient scheduling and registration through final payment collection. Develop, implement, and monitor revenue cycle policies, procedures, and performance standards. Ensure timely and accurate claim submission, payment posting, and account reconciliation. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and identify opportunities for revenue enhancement and process improvement. Billing and Collections Oversee insurance billing, patient billing, collections, and accounts receivable management. Review aging reports and establish action plans to reduce outstanding balances. Manage denial prevention and appeals processes to maximize reimbursement. Ensure timely follow-up on unpaid claims and payer issues. Coding and Compliance Maintain expertise in ophthalmology-specific coding, including CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS, diagnostic testing, surgical procedures, and modifier usage. Collaborate with physicians and clinical staff to ensure complete and accurate documentation. Monitor coding accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and payer regulations. Coordinate internal audits and corrective action plans as needed. Financial Performance Management Analyze reimbursement trends, payer contracts, and revenue cycle metrics. Prepare and present monthly revenue cycle reports to practice leadership. Recommend strategies to improve collections, reduce denials, and optimize cash flow. Assist in payer contract evaluations and negotiations. Leadership and Staff Development Supervise billing, coding, and revenue cycle personnel. Foster a culture of accountability, customer service, and continuous improvement. Coordinate cross-functional communication between clinical, administrative, and financial teams. Qualifications Required Minimum of 5 years of healthcare revenue cycle experience. Minimum of 2 years of management or supervisory experience. Strong knowledge of medical billing, coding, insurance reimbursement, and revenue cycle best practices. Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and practice management systems. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools. Preferred Experience in ophthalmology/optometry. Knowledge of retina, glaucoma, cataract, and refractive surgery billing and coding. Experience managing payer relations and contract performance.
