Job Description

Revau is seeking a hands-on Accounting Manager for its US division to lead day-to-day accounting and help strengthen the financial infrastructure of a growing specialty insurance organization. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys owning the close, solving complex reconciliation issues, improving processes, and turning financial information into clear business insight. You will work across accounting, operations, underwriting, and leadership while overseeing core accounting activities, insurance-specific financial flows, reporting, internal controls, budgeting, and forecasting. What You Will Do Accounting and Financial Reporting Own and oversee the general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, cash management, journal entries, accruals, and supporting schedules. Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes and deliver accurate, timely financial statements and management reports. Perform and review reconciliations for cash, premium receivables and payables, commissions, and other balance-sheet accounts. Research transactions and variances, resolve accounting issues, and help ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable insurance requirements. Coordinate audit and tax support, including schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation. Insurance / MGA Accounting Account for premiums, commissions, fees, carrier settlements, and producer or broker activity. Reconcile activity among the MGA, carriers, producers, brokers, and other business partners. Support financial reporting for program business and delegated-authority arrangements, including related contractual and financial flows. Partner with underwriting and operations to investigate and resolve accounting or reconciliation issues. Planning, Analysis, and Process Improvement Support annual budgeting, periodic forecasting, and budget-to-actual variance analysis. Prepare financial models and management reporting covering revenue, expenses, profitability, and key business drivers. Partner with department leaders to understand spending trends, projected performance, and business needs. Document and maintain scalable accounting policies, procedures, processes, and internal controls. Identify opportunities to improve the accuracy, efficiency, and automation of finance operations, systems, and reporting tools. Provide ad hoc financial analysis and support strategic or operational projects as needed. What You Bring Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Five or more years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in insurance, financial services, or another regulated industry. Strong command of GAAP, financial-statement preparation, close processes, general-ledger accounting, reconciliations, journal entries, and accruals. Experience preparing or supporting budgets, forecasts, variance analysis, and financial reporting. Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with accounting or ERP systems and reporting tools. Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities accurately and meet deadlines. Preferred Experience Experience with an MGA, insurance carrier, broker, program administrator, or program business. Knowledge of premium, commission, carrier-settlement, or producer-accounting processes. Experience with FP&A, financial modeling, process improvement, internal controls, or accounting-system optimization. How You Work Hands-on, detail-oriented, and accountable for accurate, high-quality work. Comfortable balancing technical accounting responsibilities with broader financial analysis. Able to explain financial information clearly to both accounting and non-accounting partners. Collaborative across finance, operations, underwriting, and leadership while also working independently.
