This position partners closely with Project Managers, operational leadership, and the Director of Finance to provide financial insight, ensure contract compliance, and support sound business decision making. Serving as the organization's primary subject matter expert for Deltek Costpoint, the Finance Manager oversees project financial performance, maintains the integrity of financial reporting, and leads initiatives that strengthen forecasting accuracy, operational efficiency, and financial controls. The position supervises the Project Controls Analyst and Accounts Payable Specialist and reports directly to the Director of Finance.
Salary Range:
$115,000 to $135,000 annually. Placement within the range is based on qualifications, experience, and demonstrated expertise.
Responsibilities:
Lead project financial planning, forecasting, and performance analysis, including Estimates at Completion (EACs), labor forecasts, revenue projections, backlog analysis, and profitability reporting. Monitor project costs, funding, labor utilization, revenue recognition, and overall financial performance. Partner with Project Managers and operational leadership to identify financial risks, evaluate project performance, and recommend corrective actions. Analyze budget-to-actual variances and communicate financial trends, risks, and opportunities to leadership. Support project financial reviews and provide meaningful analysis to support informed business decisions. Serve as the organization's primary subject matter expert for Deltek Costpoint, ensuring the integrity of project accounting, financial reporting, and system administration. Maintain project accounting structures, financial reporting hierarchies, and financial data integrity. Support project setup, maintenance, and ongoing financial administration within Deltek Costpoint. Develop and enhance financial reporting tools, dashboards, and reporting processes to improve operational visibility and decision making. Coordinate day-to-day accounting activities with the organization's outsourced accounting partner. Support monthly and annual financial close processes, including the review of financial results and supporting analyses. Prepare recurring financial, project, and management reports for leadership. Assist with budgeting, financial planning, indirect rate monitoring, and corporate forecasting activities. Support external audits, government compliance requirements, and internal control activities. Supervise, coach, and develop the Project Controls Analyst and Accounts Payable Specialist while establishing priorities and monitoring workload. Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting capabilities, internal controls, and operational efficiency. Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to support strategic initiatives and organizational objectives.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. CPA, MBA, or other relevant professional certification is preferred. Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, project finance, or project controls. Minimum of five (5) years supporting U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) government contracts in a DCAA compliant environment. Demonstrated experience supporting Cost Plus, Time and Materials (T&M), and Firm Fixed Price (FFP) contracts. Strong experience using Deltek Costpoint for project accounting, financial reporting, and project financial management. Thorough understanding of project forecasting, Estimates at Completion (EACs), revenue recognition, project accounting, and financial analysis. Working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), indirect rate structures, labor charging requirements, and government contract financial management. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including financial modeling, data analysis, and reporting. Previous supervisory or team leadership experience. Strong analytical, organizational, problem solving, and communication skills with the ability to effectively partner with Project Managers and operational leadership. Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain a high degree of accuracy in a fast paced environment. Why Join TQI Solutions?
