There is an opportunity for converting to permanent based solely on candidate performance. Medical benefits available during the contracted temporary phase. Job Duties Manages reconciliations and monitors activity across revenue, receivables, work-in-progress, investments, intercompany accounts, and debt Prepares timely, accurate internal and external financial reports, including monthly and quarterly financials, budget-to-actual analysis, cash flow forecasts, and ad hoc reporting as needed Reviews the work of direct reports for accuracy and compliance with established standards Supervises and develops a small team of accounting professionals, including planning and assigning work, training staff, and overseeing productivity Provides input on hiring, pay adjustments, and corrective action for the accounting team, in partnership with leadership Acts as backup for payroll processing when needed Partners with external auditors on the annual financial audit and related preparation Oversees preparation of organizational tax filings, including Form 990, charitable registrations, and subsidiary tax returns Establishes and manages workflow priorities across the finance department's day-to-day operations Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, CPA or Master's preferred Minimum 5 years of progressive nonprofit accounting or financial management experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role Strong knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit financial reporting standards Proven experience managing audits, grants, and multiple funding streams Advanced Excel and experience with ERP or accounting software such as Sage or NetSuite Hoxton Circle is an equal opportunity employer.
