SUMMARY:
Provide customer service to employees in regards to Payroll and Benefit inquiries, maintain enrollment in benefit programs and ensure employees are paid promptly and accurately.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Act as first point of contact for payroll and benefit inquiries. Maintain all payroll and benefit records for new and existing employees. Assist in all areas of the preparation and processing of bi-weekly payroll. Process payroll and benefits deductions accurately and timely into the payroll system. Enter payroll and benefits adjustments for overpayment and collection and communication to employees. Manage participants under benefit plans and COBRA. Prepare and process deposits and employment verifications. Assist employees and supervisors with time and attendance entry. Verify and distributes biweekly payroll and accounts payable checks. Create and maintain new and existing employee files. Assist with benefits open enrollment and new hire benefits enrollment. Monitor and processes Life Status Change requests and employee information changes. Assist in coordinating the district's Wellness program and related benefits events to employees. Establish and maintain good rapport with employees and vendors. Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality. Perform other job related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
High school diploma or G.E.D. required. Associates degree in accounting, finance or related field preferred.
EXPERIENCE
Three (3) or more years of Accounting, financial support or similar duties required. Experience in public school accounting preferred. Experience with Visions or equivalent HR/Payroll software system preferred. Experience with Google platforms preferred. Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel and Word preferred.
LICENSING/CERTIFICATIONS
Obtain and maintain a valid Arizona Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card (AZ
IVP FPCC
).
COMPUTER SKILLS
Demonstrated competency in computer literacy, Word and Excel
KNOWLEDGE OF

Light Work:
Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work, and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for Light work.
