Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Finance Specialist with a focus on grant management to join our financial team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial aspects of grant programs, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, and maintaining accurate financial records. Your expertise in accounting software, governmental accounting standards, and financial concepts will drive the success of our grant initiatives. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to impactful projects while honing your skills in corporate and nonprofit accounting environments. Responsibilities Manage all aspects of grant-related financial activities, including budgeting, expense tracking, and reporting. Perform account reconciliation and balance sheet reconciliation to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Maintain detailed records of accounts payable and accounts receivable related to grants, ensuring timely processing and documentation. Prepare and review journal entries, general ledger entries, and financial statements aligned with grant requirements. Utilize various accounting software such as Workday, QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro, and Ceridian for data entry and financial management. Conduct internal audits and ensure adherence to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls for financial integrity. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support budgeting, tax compliance, and financial analysis activities related to grants. Qualifications Proven experience in corporate or governmental accounting with a strong understanding of GAAP and nonprofit accounting principles. Familiarity with accounting software such as Workday, Paychex, QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms. Knowledge of payroll management systems including ADP, Kronos, UltiPro or Ceridian is highly desirable. Strong skills in account reconciliation, journal entries, double-entry bookkeeping, and balance sheet analysis. Experience with tax regulations related to grants or nonprofit organizations is a plus. Excellent data entry skills along with a keen eye for detail in account analysis and financial concepts. Ability to interpret complex financial data accurately while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards like SOX.
