Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Finance Operations Specialist to join our financial team. In this vital role, you will drive the efficiency and accuracy of our financial processes, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and internal standards. Your expertise will support seamless financial operations, from trade settlement to regulatory reporting, empowering our organization to achieve its strategic goals with confidence and precision. Duties Manage and oversee trade settlement processes, ensuring timely and accurate execution of securities transactions in accordance with industry standards. Monitor and implement fraud prevention and detection measures across financial platforms to safeguard assets and maintain client trust. Ensure compliance with securities law, financial regulations, GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) requirements through diligent review and reporting. Conduct detailed financial analysis using Excel data analysis techniques, including pivot tables and spreadsheets, to identify trends and support decision-making. Collaborate with internal teams on cash management strategies, banking operations, and client communication to optimize operational efficiency. Maintain accurate records of regulatory reporting, internal audits, and governmental accounting standards while ensuring adherence to industry knowledge of financial regulations. Utilize SQL databases and financial software for data extraction, reconciliation, and reporting tasks that support industry-leading financial services. Lead or participate in process improvements related to internal communication, trade settlement workflows, and business operations to enhance overall team performance. Experience Proven experience in accounting or finance roles within the financial services industry, ideally with a focus on investment management or fixed income markets. Strong understanding of financial concepts such as securities law, regulatory compliance (including banking regulatory compliance), and industry-specific standards like GAAP and SOX. Demonstrated expertise in fraud prevention techniques, trade settlement procedures, and financial analysis using Excel pivot tables and spreadsheets. Experience working with financial software systems, SQL databases, or other technical accounting tools is highly desirable. Background in public accounting or governmental accounting provides a solid foundation for navigating complex regulatory environments. Excellent internal communication skills coupled with customer service orientation to effectively liaise with clients, vendors, and cross-functional teams. Ability to analyze large datasets for insights using Excel data analysis methods while maintaining high attention to detail under tight deadlines. Leadership experience or the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment is preferred for fostering continuous improvement initiatives.
