Job Description

Financial Specialist Assistant Are you experienced with Medicaid applications, eligibility, and long-term care reimbursement processes ? If so, we want to speak with you. We are seeking a Financial Specialist Assistant to support the business office operations of our skilled nursing facility. This role plays a critical part in ensuring timely reimbursement and assisting residents and families through the Medicaid application process.
Important:
Medicaid Experience Required This is not a traditional administrative assistant or general billing position. A significant portion of this role involves: Assisting residents and families with the Medicaid application process Gathering and reviewing financial and supporting documentation Communicating with Medicaid representatives and agencies Tracking pending applications and eligibility determinations Following up with families, agencies, and facility leadership to prevent delays in approval and reimbursement Maintaining a strong understanding of Medicaid policies, regulations, and eligibility requirements Candidates without Medicaid experience or a strong understanding of Medicaid processes may find this role challenging. Experience in any of the following is strongly preferred: Medicaid eligibility Long-term care Medicaid Skilled nursing facility billing Healthcare reimbursement Medicare and Medicaid billing Accounts receivable within a healthcare setting What You'll Do Assist with Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party billing Manage accounts receivable and collections activities Support resident account management Assist with Medicaid application submission and follow-up Maintain financial and business office records Support census, payroll, accounts payable, and other business office functions as needed Work closely with facility leadership to improve operational and financial performance Qualifications Strong understanding of Medicaid policies and regulations required Healthcare billing and collections experience preferred Experience with long-term care reimbursement strongly preferred Strong organizational and analytical skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication and customer service skills Knowledge of accounting principles and reimbursement programs
