As a dedicated nonprofit, we offer free, confidential support including advocacy, counseling, emergency shelter, and systems advocacy rooted in survivor empowerment and trauma-informed care. Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Finance and Payroll Specialist to join our team. This vital role ensures accurate financial management, payroll processing, and compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in payroll management, accounting software, and financial analysis to support our mission of building safer communities through effective financial practices. Duties Manage payroll processing using systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, or UltiPro to ensure timely and accurate employee compensation Perform account reconciliation and general ledger accounting to maintain precise financial records Process accounts payable and receivable transactions with attention to detail and accuracy Prepare journal entries and handle double-entry bookkeeping to support financial reporting Administer benefits programs and assist with benefits administration tasks Conduct data entry related to payroll, expenses, and financial transactions using accounting software like QuickBooks or PeopleSoft Support compliance with tax regulations and governmental accounting requirements by preparing necessary reports and documentation Requirements Proven experience in payroll management and accounting software such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, Kronos, or Ceridian Strong understanding of financial concepts including debits & credits, journal entries, general ledger reconciliation, and account reconciliation Knowledge of human resources systems (HRIS) and benefits administration processes Familiarity with non-profit accounting practices and governmental accounting standards is a plus Excellent analysis skills for financial data interpretation and reporting Ability to perform detailed data entry with high accuracy using 10 key typing skills Experience with accounts payable/receivable, tax compliance, and bookkeeping procedures Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Join us to make a meaningful difference while advancing your career in a supportive environment committed to social justice, cultural humility, and trauma-informed practices.
