Financial and Admin Support Specialist Cone Health United States, North Carolina, Greensboro Aug 12, 2026 The Financial and Administrative Support Specialist performs completely, accurately and efficiently varied and related duties involved with patient billing, insurance and managed care contracts, i.e. referrals, authorizations, etc., as well as administrative support, clerical, and patient support tasks. Working under close supervision, this position is also accountable for establishing acceptable financial arrangements on assigned patient accounts by way of securing sponsorship from various federal, state, and county agencies, in order to meet the patient's financial obligation and ensure reimbursement accountability.
Essential Job Function:
Obtains authorizations and pre-certifications for patient visits, procedures, testing, and treatments. Collects, inputs, audits, and corrects departmental patient charges to ensure timely, complete, and accurate patient billing. Provides clerical and administrative support including processing statistics, scheduling, and patient record maintenance/compliance. Prepares disability, FMLA, and other related medical paperwork for patients. Serves as a resource to others within the organization related to the clerical functions, administrative support functions, patient support functions, and patient billing functions. Performs other duties as assigned.

Valid Driver's License (if driving a Cone Health vehicle, must have 5 years of driving experience and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) must be approved by Risk Management) Required within two years of employment: Radiation Oncology Certified Coder certification and/or RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician) and/or RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator) and/or CCS (Certified Coding Specialist).
