About UVA Health Continuing Education UVA Health Continuing Education (UVA Health CE) is a jointly accredited provider of Interprofessional Continuing Education (IPCE), representing a collaborative partnership between the UVA School of Medicine and the UVA School of Nursing. This position resides within the School of Medicine and reports to the Senior Finance Generalist UVA Health CE supports the continuing professional development of the entire healthcare team by planning and accrediting over 250 CE activities annually. These activities are designed to improve healthcare delivery and patient outcomes through high-quality, evidence-based education. As a Joint Accreditation provider, UVA Health CE is authorized to award continuing education credits to physicians, nurses, pharmacists, physician assistants, psychologists, social workers, dentists, optometrists, dietitians, and athletic trainers. UVA Health CE collaborates with regional health systems, professional societies, and other organizations to deliver impactful educational experiences that promote interprofessional collaboration and excellence in clinical practice. Position Summary The Office of Continuing Medical Education is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Finance Generalist to provide fiscal, accounting, and administrative support for a dynamic and revenue-generating continuing education enterprise. Responsibilities include financial transaction processing, budget monitoring, account reconciliations, procurement, revenue tracking, and financial reporting. Key Responsibilities Process Purchase requisitions, purchase orders, payment requests, and reimbursements. Review expenditures for accuracy and compliance. Receive, deposit, and track program revenue and registration income. Reconcile course, conference, and departmental accounts. Monitor budgets and expenditures and assist with forecasting. Maintain financial records and supporting documentation. Assist with month-end and year-end fiscal activities. Serve as a liaison with Procurement, Finance, Accounts Payable, and other Central University offices to resolve financial issues. Support compliance and audit preparation. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Financial Operations O3 (Job Code J1158) High School Diploma or equivalent required. Three years of relevant fiscal, accounting, bookkeeping, financial operations, procurement, or business administration experience required. Experience working with financial transactions, reconciliations, budgets, or accounting systems. Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities. Financial Operations Professional P1 (Job Code J1159) Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field required. No experience is required. Demonstrated analytical, organizational, and customer service skills. Ability to learn about financial systems, policies, and procedures. The anticipated hiring range is $55,000 - $63,000 annually, commensurate with experience and subject to internal equity, market review, job profile alignment, and applicable approvals. This position will remain open until filled. This is an exempt level, benefited position. The University will perform background checks on all hires (if required) prior to employment.
