JOB SUMMARY
The Client Financial Specialist is responsible for managing the full client billing cycle and supporting day-to-day financial operations. This role ensures accurate and timely billing, payment posting, accounts receivable management, and compliance with contractual agreements and applicable regulations. The Client Financial Specialist works collaboratively with operational departments to ensure all billable services are captured appropriately, discrepancies are resolved efficiently, and client accounts are maintained accurately. This position also supports accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, bank reconciliations, and financial reporting while maintaining a high level of customer service for both internal and external clients.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Collaborates closely with service departments to understand workflows and ensure accurate billing processes. Prepares and processes client billing statements accurately and in a timely manner. Distributes monthly statements via mail and/or email within established timelines. Posts client payments accurately and maintains detailed accounts receivable records. Monitors unpaid accounts and communicates account status updates with applicable departments. Assists in meeting established collection and accounts receivable benchmarks. Provides excellent customer service and supports positive client and patient experiences. Utilizes billing, registration, accounts receivable, and reporting software proficiently. Processes incoming insurance, patient, and client correspondence related to payment posting and account reconciliation. Investigates and resolves billing discrepancies, questions, and payment issues promptly. Reviews credit balances and processes eligible refunds within established timelines. Assists with preparation of financial, statistical, and operational reports as requested. Maintains compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations, organizational policies, and Corporate Compliance Program requirements, including the Code of Conduct. Must remain free from governmental sanctions involving healthcare and/or financial practices. Performs additional duties as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education Associates Degree preferred. Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience demonstrating the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered. Experience Minimum of one (1) year of medical billing, collections, or related financial experience preferred. Medical terminology knowledge preferred. Three (3) or more years of accounts receivable experience preferred.
