The Financial Modeler plays a critical role in supporting Mazama Energy's strategic growth initiatives through the development, maintenance, and analysis of complex financial models. This position is responsible for evaluating project economics, forecasting company performance, supporting capital raising initiatives, conducting scenario analyses, and providing data-driven insights that inform executive decisionmaking. Additionally, Mazama Energy relies on this position to assess investment opportunities, evaluate geothermal project feasibility, support budgeting and long-term planning efforts, and contribute to financial strategies that advance the commercialization and deployment of geothermal technologies. Financial Modeling & Analysis
- Develop, maintain, and enhance detailed financial models supporting geothermal development projects and corporate planning.
- Build project finance, cash flow, valuation, and investment return models.
- Conduct discounted cash flow (DCF), net present value (NPV), internal rate of return (IRR), and sensitivity analyses.
- Evaluate project economics under multiple development, operational, and financing scenarios.
- Translate technical and operational assumptions into robust financial forecasts.
- Ensure consistency, transparency, and accuracy across all financial modeling outputs. Project Economics & Investment Analysis
- Assess the financial viability of geothermal projects from exploration through commercialization.
- Analyze development costs, operating expenses, revenue projections, and risk-adjusted returns.
- Support due diligence activities for potential investments, acquisitions, partnerships, and joint ventures.
- Prepare investment memoranda and recommendations for management and stakeholders.
- Evaluate tax incentives, grants, renewable energy credits, and other financing mechanisms applicable to geothermal projects. Corporate Forecasting & Strategic Planning
- Support annual budgeting processes and long-term strategic planning activities.
- Develop corporate financial forecasts and performance projections.
- Analyze business performance against budgets, forecasts, and strategic objectives.
- Identify financial risks, opportunities, and key business drivers.
- Assist leadership with capital allocation decisions and growth initiatives. Data Analysis & Reporting
- Gather, organize, and analyze financial and operational data from internal and external sources.
- Develop dashboards, reports, and KPIs to support decision-making.
- Present financial findings and recommendations to executives and project teams.
- Monitor economic, energy market, and industry trends impacting project performance.
- Ensure data integrity and quality within financial reporting processes. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with engineering, operations, project management, accounting, and executive leadership teams.
- Support project development teams by providing economic and financial assessments.
- Collaborate with technical personnel to understand assumptions affecting project economics.

- Other duties as assigned. Qualifications and Experience Requirements
- Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field required.
- Master's Degree (MBA, Finance, Economics, or related discipline) preferred.
- Minimum three (3) years of financial modeling, project finance, corporate finance, investment banking, private equity, energy finance, renewable energy finance, or related experience.
- Experience developing advanced financial models for infrastructure, energy, renewable energy, utilities, oil & gas, or industrial projects preferred.
- Strong understanding of financial statements, valuation methodologies, and capital markets.
- Experience supporting capital raises, project financing, or investment evaluation activities preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling best practices.
- Experience with financial planning and forecasting tools preferred.
Strong analytical, quantitative, and problemsolving skills. Excellent written, verbal, organizational, and presentation skills. Ability to travel as required throughout the United States. Preferred Experience Geothermal, renewable energy, power generation, infrastructure, utility, or energy transition sector experience. Experience with project finance structures and nonrecourse financing. Knowledge of renewable energy tax incentives, grants, and government funding programs. Experience working with energy market forecasting and commodity price modeling. Familiarity with venturebacked or growthstage companies. Experience supporting boardlevel and investorlevel reporting.
