POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direction of the VP of Finance, the Academic Services Associate/Business/Third Party Accounts is responsible for performing both administrative and accounting tasks for the Business Office/Student Accounts, including, but not limited to: Taking payments, third party billing, non-credit billing, administration of student health insurance program, student account auditing and processing of returned checks, refund warrant processing, answering student Business Office-related inquiries, assisting with collections process and other duties as assigned.

3-5 years accounting/administrative experience in a business office environment, preferably in a higher education institution, is required. Working knowledge of spreadsheets, computer systems, and business office functions required. Third Party billing experience. Excellent customer service skills. Knowledge of the Jenzabar system is helpful. Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative on projects. Proven competence in managing multiple tasks and completing priorities within deadlines. Flexible time schedule to accommodate service needs.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
No direct supervision.
TRAVEL:
Occasional local travel may be required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Perform customer service duties such as - phone, walk-in, letters, email Processing student payments. Assist with collection process (current & past due) - balance due letters, payment plans, referral to agencies, tracking of agency payments, liaison with agencies. Make recommendations to the CFO as needed. Performs duties associated with Health Insurance such as charges, reminders, waiver, adjustments, follow up with vendor, etc. Prepares reports for provider and state agencies as needed. Performs student health insurance data extractions Process returned checks as needed. Perform the Student 1098T Process. Coordinate annual production with Third Party Company. Perform Third party set up, billing and follow up. Perform Non-credit billing and follow-up. Process aAll student Refund Warrants Complete special projects for CFO or President as requested. Assist in preparing budget information. Provide departments within the college with updated information throughout the year. Prepare materials for the annual audit. Perform student accounts review, adjustments, refunds for past due accounts Cross trains for all Business Office functions. Maintain foundational knowledge and assist in/with all areas pertaining to student financial aid/admission/enrollment/registration/business/technical areas. Schedule appointments to meet with prospective and current students to provide comprehensive information to answer their questions, issues, and concerns in all matters relative to financial aid/admission/registration/academic advising/business matters. Assist with outreach activities and all recruiting initiatives of prospective students, current students, parents, and all constituents, including information sessions, campus tours, virtual office appointments, zoom sessions, and off-campus visits. "Walk" students and prospective students through administrative/enrollment (admission, course selection, registration, financial aid, business) processes, providing instructional and technical support as needed Other duties as assigned.
