Job Description
The Post-Graduate Financial Representative Development Internship is designed to help recent graduates gain hands-on business experience while exploring opportunities in financial services. Participants develop an entrepreneurial mindset while working alongside experienced financial professionals and utilizing industry-leading planning tools, resources, and training. Inspired by the Financial Representative career path, the program provides a foundation in financial planning, relationship management, business development, and client engagement. Through mentorship, coaching, and real-world experience, participants gain valuable exposure to Northwestern Mutual's culture and professional network.
Participants have the opportunity to:
Build a client base through prospecting and networking. Develop and execute a personal business strategy. Meet prospective clients to understand their financial goals and priorities. Create financial plans and provide tailored recommendations. Gain exposure to financial planning software and technology platforms. Learn the fundamentals of financial planning, insurance solutions, and investment strategies. Participate in weekly coaching, training, and professional development sessions. Work alongside experienced advisors, leaders, and mentors. Obtain Life, Health, and Long-Term Care insurance licenses. Develop leadership, communication, networking, sales, and entrepreneurial skills. Gain hands-on client-facing experience and business development training. Ideal candidates are recent undergraduate or graduate degree recipients who are self-motivated, coachable, and goal oriented. They possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, have a passion for helping others achieve financial security, and are interested in exploring career opportunities within financial services, business development, wealth management, and client relationship management. The Post-Graduate Financial Representative Development Internship provides 12 weeks of immersive professional experience, mentorship, leadership development, and networking opportunities with successful financial professionals across Northwestern Mutual's network. Designed to support long-term career growth, the program combines real-world business experience, professional coaching, and client-facing opportunities, with eligible participants having the opportunity to be considered for future full-time Financial Representative roles upon successful completion of the program.Benefits
