Job Description

Description Citizens Bank is seeking a Commercial Real Estate (CRE) Relationship Manager within the Business Banking segment. This role serves as the primary relationship owner for an assigned portfolio of CRE clients, with a strong focus on portfolio management, relationship deepening, and disciplined portfolio growth. The position includes moderate business development and selective new business originations to support long‑term franchise growth and overall relationship profitability. Responsibilities Portfolio Management & Client Coverage Serve as the central point of contact for an assigned portfolio of Commercial Real Estate clients, ensuring consistent, high‑quality coverage. Proactively manage the portfolio across the full credit lifecycle, including renewals, amendments, covenant compliance, documentation, and ongoing credit monitoring. Maintain a deep understanding of each client's business, financial performance, and market dynamics to proactively identify risks and opportunities. Partner closely with Credit, Portfolio Management, and Operations teams to ensure timely execution and sound risk management. Portfolio Growth & Relationship Expansion Drive organic growth within the existing portfolio through thoughtful relationship expansion, increased wallet share, and cross‑sell opportunities. Identify opportunities to deepen relationships through deposits, cash management, derivatives, and wealth referrals to enhance overall relationship profitability. Develop actionable client strategies to support retention and long‑term growth of the portfolio. New Business Development (Selective Emphasis) Support targeted new business development efforts through referral sources, prospect calling, and community involvement. Evaluate new opportunities consistent with portfolio strategy, return thresholds, and risk appetite. Perform underwriting‑related activities for new transactions, including risk assessment, structuring credit terms, coordinating due diligence, and generating targeted returns. Credit & Transaction Execution Prepare credit recommendations and loan structures tailored to client needs. Produce required documentation to support loan origination, structuring, and execution of complex CRE transactions. Present credit requests to senior management and respond knowledgeably and confidently to questions. Qualifications Minimum of 4 years of Commercial Real Estate banking experience. Demonstrated success managing and growing a meaningful CRE portfolio. Strong credit acumen with experience structuring complex transactions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build deep, trusted client relationships. Proven ability to drive relationship profitability through portfolio growth and cross‑selling. Strong technical and organizational skills; experience using Salesforce or similar CRM systems preferred.

Monday - Friday Pay Transparency The salary range for this position is $109,350-182,250, per year, plus benefits and an opportunity to earn additional incentive earnings.
