Job Description
Job Summary Serve as a liaison between the member and the credit union. Perform a variety of transactional duties to serve members by receiving or paying out funds with high degree of accuracy. Maintain accurate transactional records, providing basic cash receipt and payment services in accordance with credit union policies and procedures. Open accounts for members, resolve issues, and professionally handle the member's daily needs. Responsibilities and Duties Greet and welcome members to the credit union in a courteous, professional and timely manner, providing prompt, accurate, and efficient member transactions. Receive share drafts/checks and cash for deposit to accounts, verify amounts, examine share drafts/checks for proper endorsement, and enter deposits into computer records. Cash share drafts/checks and process withdrawals; pay out money after verification of signatures and member balances. Provide in-person and by telephone general and specific service-related information concerning credit union services or policies. Respond to members' requests, problems, and complaints and/or direct them to the appropriate person for specific information and assistance. Open new accounts, provide members with all necessary information for membership and service existing accounts. Maintain an up-to-date and comprehensive knowledge on all credit union products and services that are handled or promoted by member service representatives. Maintain an up-to-date and comprehensive knowledge on all related policies and procedures, rules and regulations for the teller area, including robbery procedures. Develop a working knowledge of the Credit Union's data processing system. Process member night deposit and mail transactions. Research accounts for deposit, withdrawal, and loan-payment discrepancies. Assist members in balancing their accounts. Assist members with the proper completion of payroll deduction and direct deposit cards. Scan member checks daily for processing by our Corporate Credit Union. Ensure that workstation is properly stocked with forms, supplies, brochures, etc. Report malfunctions of teller terminals and other equipment used at the teller station. Balance cash drawer at the end of the shift and compare totaled amounts to computer-generated proof sheet. Research and resolve discrepancies. Report any discrepancies to the supervisor. Responsible for adhering to all security procedures relative to the handling of member cash transactions, security, over/short policy compliance and internal operating procedures. Maintain Credit Union, Employee and Member confidentiality. Attend training programs as required by the Credit Union. Assume other reasonable duties as directed by CEO, Operations Manager or Sr. Member Service Representative. Qualifications and Skills
INTERPERSONAL SKILLS
A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, along with the ability to keep information to a need-to-know basis. Individual needs to be a self-starter, demonstrate initiative, team- oriented, and display a positive attitude, strong member service skills, strong researcher and problem solver.KNOWLEDGE
Strong PC skills and experienced MS Office user preferred.OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES
Normal work schedule typically falls between 8:30 AM - 6:30 PM. Candidate must be able to work a flexible schedule. Must have excellent listening, verbal and written communications skills. Must be able to establish and maintain a positive, professional Credit Union image to members and coworkers. Must be able to effectively cross-service Credit Union products to potential/current members and be able to maintain a high level of concentration over a large volume of highly detailed work. Must have accurate mathematical and number recognition skills and be able to fully use office equipment. Must be able to effectively organize and coordinate work for self. Must be able to make consistent, logical, independent judgement in carrying out responsibilities. Must be able to stand and/or sit for extended periods of time, be able to take direction and be bondable.REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
