Job Description
Financial Services Educator Most people are taught how to work for money. Far fewer are taught how to protect their income, prepare for financial uncertainty, understand insurance, or create a strategy for retirement. We want to help close that education gap. WID Financial is seeking motivated individuals who want to develop their financial knowledge, become properly licensed, and learn how to educate individuals and families about insurance-based financial solutions. You do not need previous financial-services experience to be considered. You do need to be willing to learn, complete applicable licensing requirements, communicate with people, develop client relationships, and take personal responsibility for building your business. This is a 1099 independent-contractor opportunity. Compensation is 100% commission-based. There is no guaranteed salary, hourly wage, or income. Insurance licensing is required before performing activities that require a license. Our Purpose We believe better financial decisions begin with better financial education. The goal isn't to start with a product. It's to start with the person. What are they trying to protect? What financial concerns do they have? What are they building toward? What do they understand and where are the gaps? Your role is to learn how to have those conversations, educate clients within the scope of your license, and help qualified individuals and families evaluate appropriate insurance-based solutions. Learn first. Listen carefully. Educate clearly. Serve with purpose. What You Can Learn Training and mentorship may cover areas such as: Fundamental financial-literacy concepts Income and family protection strategies Life insurance fundamentals Living-benefit concepts Insurance-based financial strategies Retirement and income-planning concepts Understanding client needs and objectives Conducting educational client conversations Professional communication and follow-up Prospecting and relationship development Ethical and compliant business practices Building and managing a client base Our objective is not simply to teach you what products exist. We want you to develop the ability to understand a client's situation, ask meaningful questions, explain concepts in everyday language, and make appropriate recommendations within the scope of your license. Your Responsibilities Once appropriately licensed, your responsibilities may include: Meeting with prospective clients and families Conducting financial-needs conversations Helping clients identify potential protection or planning gaps Educating clients about applicable insurance concepts and solutions Explaining product features and considerations clearly Making appropriate insurance recommendations based on client needs Assisting clients with applications and required documentation Maintaining appropriate client follow-up Developing new relationships through prospecting, networking, referrals, and community involvement Completing ongoing training and professional development Following applicable regulatory, carrier, and company requirements This is a relationship-driven opportunity. Building a client base is an important part of the role. Who May Be a Good Fit? We're looking for individuals who are curious, coachable, self-motivated, and comfortable working with people. You may be a strong candidate if you: Want to improve your own understanding of financial concepts Enjoy educating or helping others Can communicate complicated ideas in a simple way Are willing to learn a regulated profession Are comfortable meeting and speaking with new people Can work independently and remain accountable Are willing to prospect and develop client relationships Value long-term relationships over transactional interactions Are interested in performance-based compensation Want to develop a professional skill set that can grow with experience Previous experience in insurance or financial services is not required. Backgrounds in sales, education, customer service, entrepreneurship, real estate, hospitality, management, or other relationship-focused professions may translate well into this opportunity. Licensing & Training An applicable state insurance license is required before conducting activities that require that license. If you are already appropriately licensed, prior experience may help accelerate your training. If you are not licensed, qualified candidates may receive information about the steps required to pursue licensing and begin professional training. Depending on your state and circumstances, licensing may include pre-licensing education, examinations, background requirements, fees, and other regulatory requirements. Unlicensed individuals may not solicit, negotiate, or transact insurance where a license is required. Licensing and training do not guarantee employment, commissions, clients, or a particular level of success. Flexible Schedule This opportunity may be pursued on a part-time or full-time basis.
