Job Description
We are looking for an AML Analyst to support anti-money laundering efforts through detailed review of customer activity and transaction records in Washington, District of Columbia. This Long-term Contract position is well suited for an analytical, detail-oriented individual who can identify unusual cash activity, assess risk indicators, and contribute to regulatory reporting accuracy. The role focuses on examining transactions above reporting thresholds, recognizing meaningful patterns, and helping maintain compliance with financial crime prevention standards.
Responsibilities:
- Examine customer files and transaction activity to identify cash transactions that meet or exceed regulatory reporting thresholds.
- Analyze account behavior for unusual trends, inconsistencies, or patterns that may indicate potential financial crime risk.
- Prepare and support required currency transaction reporting with accuracy, completeness, and attention to regulatory standards.
- Review documentation across customer records to confirm reportable activity is properly supported and escalated when needed.
- Partner with compliance and operational teams to clarify findings, resolve exceptions, and maintain case quality.
- Maintain organized records of reviews, decisions, and supporting evidence to satisfy audit and regulatory expectations.
- Escalate potentially suspicious activity or incomplete information to the appropriate internal stakeholders for further assessment.
