Job Description
Description We are looking for an AML Analyst to join a Contract assignment in Virginia. In this role, you will examine customer activity to identify large cash transactions, assess unusual patterns, and support compliance with anti-money laundering regulations. This opportunity is well suited for an entry-level financial candidate who is analytical, organized, and comfortable working with sensitive financial information.
Responsibilities:
- Review customer transaction records to identify cash activity that meets regulatory reporting thresholds.
- Analyze account behavior for unusual or potentially suspicious patterns that may require further review.
- Prepare accurate documentation to support currency transaction reporting and related compliance activities.
- Evaluate customer files and financial data to confirm completeness, consistency, and adherence to AML standards.
- Escalate findings, discrepancies, or risk indicators to appropriate compliance or investigative teams.
- Maintain clear records of reviews performed, decisions made, and supporting rationale for audit readiness.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather information needed for case assessments and reporting obligations. Requirements
- Bachelor's or Honours degree required.
- Knowledge of anti-money laundering principles and regulatory compliance practices.
- Ability to review financial information carefully and recognize irregular transaction activity.
- Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail in a deadline-driven environment.
- Proficiency in documenting findings clearly and accurately.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
