Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Prior Authorization Specialist, where your expertise will streamline the approval process for medical services and prescriptions. In this vital role, you will serve as the key liaison between healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients to ensure timely authorization of necessary treatments. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will help facilitate smooth communication, reduce delays, and enhance patient care experiences. Duties Review and process prior authorization requests for medical procedures, and tests in accordance with insurance guidelines and policies Collaborate with healthcare providers to gather necessary documentation and clarify treatment plans for authorization approval Verify patient insurance coverage, benefits, and eligibility using managed care systems and insurance portals Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by maintaining strict confidentiality of patient records and sensitive information Utilize CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-10 (International Classification of Diseases), and other medical coding standards to accurately document services Track and follow up on pending authorizations to expedite approvals and communicate updates to relevant parties Maintain detailed records of all authorization requests, correspondence, and outcomes in medical records management systems Requirements Proven experience in managed care, insurance verification, or medical office administration Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medical coding (CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10), and medical records management Familiarity with HIPAA compliance standards to protect patient privacy and confidentiality Previous office experience in a healthcare setting is mandatory Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with providers, insurers, and patients Ability to navigate insurance portals, manage multiple tasks efficiently, and work under tight deadline Join us to be part of a dedicated team committed to improving healthcare access through precision, efficiency, and compassionate service. Pay:
$18.00 - $21.00 per hour
